Organizations

NISGUA

The Network in Solidarity with the People of Guatemala (NISGUA) participates in a global movement for human rights and fair and just economic systems. Linking grassroots movements in Guatemala and the U.S., they promote positive social change in both countries as well as solidarity that is mutually respectful and beneficial.

AIDG

The Appropriate Infrastructure Development Group (AIDG) works in Guatemala to help individuals and communities get affordable and environmentally sound access to electricity, sanitation and clean water.

MADRE

MADRE works in Guatemala and other countries supporting community development programs and training that enable women to play leadership roles in their families, communities, countries, and the international arena. This approach enables their sister organizations to meet immediate needs in their communities while developing long term solutions to the crises they face.

Global Exchange

Global Exchange is a membership-based international human rights organization dedicated to promoting social, economic, and environmental justice around the world.

Cafe Conciencia

Café Conciencia is an international non profit organization that works in solidarity with worker-owned coffee cooperatives in Guatemala to help them achieve social and economic justice.

Entre Mundos

It is the aim of Entre Mundos to link socially and culturally active organizations in Guatemala together with useful resources, and to provide a forum and information center for people wishing to become involved in social, cultural and political projects. Promoting the value of volunteer work for community and project development.

Asociacion Pop-Wuj

Pop-Wuj (pope-woo) is a collectively owned and operated Spanish school in Quetzaltenango, Guatemala. Through a mix of intensive language study and social service projects, students come to a better understanding of the political, social, and cultural realities of Guatemala.

La Florida, Ecotourism Project
